Palefò is a space for voices that too often go unrecognized in the world of technology. Our goal is to build artificial intelligence (AI) models that reflect the sound, rhythm, and richness of Kreyòl.
Our Mission
We seek to build high-quality Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Text-To-Speech (TTS) models that reflect the sound, rhythm, and richness of Kreyòl. By collecting audio and text in Haitian Kreyòl, we're helping to ensure that this vibrant language—and the people who speak it—have a place in the future of AI.
These tools will make voice technology more accessible, support learning and communication, and help bridge the gap between marginalized languages and modern digital platforms. Contribute to Palefò
You can contribute to Palefò by submitting a Kreyòl voice sample and allowing us to train our models. You either contribute a sentence or paragraph Palefò preselects for you (Option 1), contribute a sentence or paragraph you chose by yourself (Option 2), or you can tell Palefò to generate its own sentence for you to speak. Every contribution you make helps us refine the model and brings us closer to a capture and integrate into future ai tools the richness of the Kreyòl language and of its various rhythms and accents.
